I couldn't tell you what it is, but I will say that I am personally a big believer in the supernatural and would definitly consider it being a spirit of some sort. A house doesn't have to be old to be haunted. Do some research and see what you can do about it.

Demons. At least that is what is in my house and it sounds similar to what you are experiencing.

Sometimes late at night I will wake up and see a dark shadow hovering over my bed. One time it even reached out and touched my hand and my hand started to convulse. It wasn't fun.
